King's Cross Station London Reviews

The Dead Platform - For those of you who don't travel on the central line every morning and won't have the chance to see the British Museum station, there is SOME respite.

I have become an undergound detective of late, and much to my boyfriend's chagrin I spend most of every journey with my face pressed against the glass.

Yesterday in between King's Cross and Farringdon, on the right side of the carriage, I found the elusive 'dead platform of King's Cross'. This is a King's Cross platform not used since the fifties. The best thing about it is that it's completely shut off from the rest of the undergound. A large staircase coming onto the platform is bricked off at the top. It looks spooky and dusty. Internet research has yeilded a little historical background; the platform serviced a now defunct line.

Well worth the embarrasment of teenaged girls getting off the train to avoid your erratic behavior and screaming.
