The on going aim for StolenSpace is to show work from artists we really believe in and think deserve our and your time, not just names you've heard of, across the site you'll find a fine selection of artworks from the StolenSpace notorieties, even better come down to the space and see the work in the flesh. The name StolenSpace doesn't refer to the fact we're squatting and not paying rent... we tried that it doesn't work... but is more a homage to many of the artists whose work we show and their backgrounds, both past and present as graffiti & street artists. Yes we pay rent... sometimes.

Stolenspace Gallery London Reviews

The Largest Space for Street Artist - My boyfriend and I stopped in the gallery this past November when I found out that the Shepard Fairey show was being held there. The walk down Brick Lane was wonderful. Definitely my kind of neighborhood.

The world of street art is definitely up and coming. Not all of them are drug addicted or gang members. Since it's now being recognized as a form of high-art, it's good to see street artists getting the kind of attention and respect they deserve.

As we strolled down the street, and reached the address, we had trouble finding the entrance. It's a discreet door of the Old Truman Brewery. Once you go up a flight of shady looking stairs, and open a fragile door, you will be welcomed into a HUGE space! In fact, it was the largest single artist gallery shows I've ever seen. You could probably fit a small parade of elephants in there! On every wall in the gallery, were pieces by Fairey. There must have been hundreds of them. It was a really amazing show. I look forward to coming back!

I recently came back to Stolenspace... and was a bit disappointed. Not by the art show itself, rather because the large space they had for the Fairey show was just temporary. Their real space is behind Brick Lane. You should see the sign. The space is small, but the urban artists speak volumes here. Plenty of prints and books are available at the counter.
