The Scandinavian cafe are open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks and offer and array of tasty Scandinavian food to take away or eat in - plus freshly baked pastries, rolls, rye bread, coffe and cold drinks all day. For lunch they do a smorgasbord of open sandwiches, wraps, salads and meatballs etc. The shop section provides a wide selection of scandinavian products to a reasonable price.

Scandinavian Kitchen London Reviews

A tucked away coffee... - Round the corner from my office, a frequented place for good coffee and lunches... Not as good as another local coffee joint, but its open later, and nicely tucked away from the oxford circus crowd...

Lovely lunch hijacked by nastiness - Chosen entirely based on other Tippers' enthusiastic reviews, we had a fabulous lunch at Scandinavian Kitchen. Mushroom soup seasoned with juniper was incredibly good; sandwiches (we ambitiously ordered far too many) were all interesting, fresh, and flavorful; and the cake was, just like the SK server lady said, potentially addictive.
It seems, though, that the relaxed atmosphere of Scandinavian Kitchen makes it a preferred location for local business people to have heavy, unpleasant informal discussions: the table next to us was occupied first by two women addressing "why I shouldn't fire you now for lousy performance and disastrous teamwork"; and then immediately by two guys discussing what in hell had gone wrong with a project. They definitely weren't enjoying themselves, and some overheard snippets were enough to put me off my lunch.
So while I have no doubt I'll go back for reasons of food and general coziness, I might recommend skipping the business lunch hour, or at least trying to sit far away from anyone else. Breakfast might be the more tranquil choice.

London's best Scandi shop & cafe! - Scandinavian Kitchen is very addictive. The food, the atmosphere and the staff all leave you wanting more, and once you've been there you are sure to be going back.

The food is always fresh and tasty, the staff funny and friendly (not to mention tasty as well!), the place itself is trendy and cosy, and it's the perfect place to hang out any time of day. You'll feel welcome the second you walk through their bright red doors.

For Scandinavians living in London the place is authentic enough to feel like a little piece of home (you'll know what I mean when you see the place buzzing with happy Scandinavians at lunch time), and for anyone else it's a brilliant place to discover why those Nordics always have a twinkle in their eyes!

Enjoy.

Great value, really nice staff - Really good value lunch place, not just for Scandinavians! Really good service, excellent coffee, the best hotdogs I've ever tasted.

Get there early, they can get really busy around 13:00.

Scandi superb! - Being a Swede myself it happens that I find myself in crazy craving situations for something from home, once I've done the trek all the way to IKEA the cravings are usually over. To hear about this place being in the West End and having a reasonable price on their product sounded too good to be true. Surprisingly it wasn't! This cafe/shop opened only a few months ago, it's got the typical bright, wooden and simple Scandinavian interior and provides a very wide range of food to eat in or takeaway. My favorite bit is the back with all kinds of stuff that you would find in a Scandinavian food shop such as cod roe, pickled herring, lingon berry jam, cheese doodles and even some of our amazing dairy products that the UK is no way near to compete with. All this to a very good price and lovely staff makes this one of my favorite cafe's in London.
