The Tale of India London Reviews

One of the worst takeaways - Ordered a takeaway last night from the tale of india in docklands E14.
We ordered a chicken massala and a lamb kurma which both tasted the same only
Only one was bright red and other was bright yellow.
I also order a prawn on puree and some other bits .
The food was cold and taste less.
I would not recommend this place to my worst enermy.
Avoid.

A tasty take-away - I've had a takeaway from here a few times, the delivery takes a while but they do advise this when you order.
The food is gorgeous and they always get the meal right, and you get a lot of it too.
Well worth the money!

Tall tale... - A little curry place near Westferry DLR. I went here in celebration of my flatmate Dave's return to England from Azerbaijan and two months in Thailand (). As you often find in smaller places, there's lots of mirrors to give the illusion of a greater size (my bed is made of mirrors). A cool thing about this place is that with a mirror behind you, and on the opposite wall too, the reflections create the appearance of a magical hidden corridor in the mirror, leading (presumably) to a place beyond time.

Another aesthetically pleasing feature is the little stars they have painted on the ceiling. These are highly appropriate considering how DARK it is in here. I do not wish to speculate on the reasons for this.

The music they played...oh. No word of a lie, they played the greatest hits of Blue...ON REPEAT. Hearing the first song, I found it amusing. After the next I was dismayed. After a couple more I wanted to kill somebody. The worst moment was when the CD finished, and a feeling of pleasant relief filled my body.... only to be utterly shattered when the CD looped around to the beginning again.

The service was pretty poor. For instance, the food took an extremely long time and it took three attempts to get the bill brought to us. The staff seemed almost indifferent to our presence... but to be fair they are deprived of sunlight and forced to listed to Blue all day, which would annoy anyone.

The food was great however; there were no complaints from our table about that. And the prices were fine too, it worked out around £13 per head for popodums with the usual dip things, meal with rice or naan, and 2 beers. So it would definitely be worth ordering takeaway from here, but I would not recommend going to the actual restaurant.

The Tale of India. Well, if India is dark at all times, full of rubbishpy music and the people all but ignore you, the tale is pretty accurate.
