Re-opened as a gastropub & so good! - You would think the location on the West end of Chapel Market could be a risky place to open a nice gastropub but clearly it's working out. The pub was packed with diners on a Thursday night and I've heard you have to book ahead for most nights (we got a table for 2 just fine though). What great is they've converted the bar into an open kitchen so you can see the chef prepare your food. It has a great buzz to the place.

The young, cute Swedish waitress was very sweet and attentive. The menu is amazing (you know it's good when you want everything). I went for the beetroot cured wild salmon and for £7 it was a huge portion. My main was roasted vegatable salad which was also very good although I probably should have been more adventurous. I would have had the pan fried brill but the chef wouldn't allow substitutions for the veg which is my main complaint about the place. Why not? it's so easy to swap potatos for parsnips!

My husband had the fois gras with roasted figs and peach on toast and it was DELICIOUS! He also has the rabbit which he thought was slightly over-cooked but still really good.

They have a decent wine by the glass list which is nice.

All in all a nice new, gastropub to add the many in N1. I'll be back...
