Liquorice Pub - good 4 all sorts - My new local. Brixton lacks some good pubs that cater to discerning drinkers that also like a good bit of grub, this place does that.
It's a lovely building hidden in the Herne Hill / loughborough junction back streets that has a classic Brixton mix of punters. I went for dinner a week ago and had a great burger, my fellow dinners ate well too, ribs, portobello shroom burger and something else, good value too at £10 for your meal and a drink. This gaff has a great beer garden too with a nice covered bit for us puffers.
Also if you are local, come try it as this place has something on most nights, whilst we dined we listened to live singing (50/60s film stuff), just the right volume to listen or natter. Quiz nights rock too.
The only downside was a faux pas on their part my buddies beer wasn't a beer but the cleaning fluids that they forgot to drain! But we were given a couple of free drinks for the slip, my ale was fab (badger i think). Good wine selection too. 16-10-09
