A Camden gem! - The Crown and Goose is a most excellent pub. Hidden in the back streets, between Camden Town and Mornington Crescent, you would be unlikely to find it, if you didn’t know it was there.

It’s small, but very cosy and a little bit shabby, but in a nice way, with stripped wooden furniture, gilt edged mirrors and low lighting. It’s usually busy but if you get there early you might be able to grab a table. If the restaurant part is quiet, the staff are usually happy to let you sit there.

The food is really good value and rumour has it that the chef trained in Michelin starred restaurants. You can expect the usual gastro pub style menu, with the token posh-burger thrown in for good measure, but it’s all done really well and very reasonably priced.

All in all this is a very good pub for a sociable evening’s drinking and/or eating.

Take a gander at the goose - Away from the main drag and dirt and filth of Camden high street you'll find the Crown and Goose. Still has the feel of camden, but without the Pete Doherty wannnabe syndrome. Food is good value and the selection of booze at the bar leaves you wanting for nothing. Make sure that you get there early if you're planning on spending the whole evening there as getting a seat can be tough. Worth a look in. 06-02-08
