mamma mia!! - It's a fact, this is one of the most authentic Italian Pizzeria's in London. With a lively team of Italian staff and an impressive amount of Italian families as customers, Pappagone is a little piece of Italia in North London.

Whenever you go (and I have been approx 10 times in the last 8 months!!), you will be greeted with a friendly smile, a 'ciao' and if you're a regular, you'll sometimes even get a hug! :)

The restaurant is always busy and you will be able to see the chef's crafting fresh pizza doughs before placing them inside the huge pizza oven.

The menu is vast and pizza's are large and their toppings are fresh and delicious.
You can also choose from a variety of equally fresh pasta dishes and my personal favourite - the seafood risotto. This is by far, the best seafood risotto i've eaten in England. Cooked with that distinctive Italian heartiness and only the freshest king prawns, scallops and octopus - this risotto may well be my achilles' heel!

They make their own ice cream!!!!!! -

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better; friendly staff, great atmosphere-always busy be prepared to have a beer and wait for a table at the bar, they literally do everything you can think of-enormous pizza's, calzone, pasta, meat / steak, fish / seafood etc and if you are a vegan like my dad they are happy to make something just for you if nothing on the menu fits the bill!! I am then handed a dessert menu and low and behold they make their own ice cream! and not just any ice cream...... gellato!

I would highly recommend a scoop of Hazelnut & one of Chocolate! It's not cheap and to be honest the scoops seem a little small but they do taste out of this world! if you're not an ice cream fan (if there is such a thing?) the bannofee pie is also pretty awesome!

Average meal for 2 including starter, mains, wine & dessert usually £45-£50-Bargin!!! 02-02-09
