Once recognised as a sports bar The Bald Faced Stag has changed direction. The pool hall has been replaced with an 80 cover dining room with an open plan kitchen serving a cross section of modern British cuisine, accompanied with a fine selection of worldly wines. Customers during the warmer months can enjoy alfresco dining under the enormous sycamore tree in the beer garden. During the colder months enjoy a drink in the cosy bar which stocks a good selection of beers & ales.

otherwise known as the slag - I like this place.
It may seem from the outside like another souless north london gastropub, but actually it's much better.
You may know it as it's former self which is a grim pikey pub but it's makeover in summer 07 successfully managed to paint away all signs of any chaviness.
It's a massive space with friendly bar staff. The food is absloutely gorgeous and the only problem is that it doesn't get as busy as it should because lets face it, East Finchley isn't the most happening of areas, yet.
The Slag certainly helps reputation of East finch and will hopefully be attracting hoards from Muswell Hill who are searching (and failing to find) anywhere close by that is half decent to drink in.
