Good food but questionable service - The food at The Queen's is really very good and extremely reasonably priced for the quality. I had steak and my husband had sausage and mash and both were really well cooked,decent portions and tasted great. For both meals and a couple of drinks each we spent about £40 in total (I was drinking decent wine too).

Unfortunately we weren't bowled over by the service, which was disappointing. I had read similar reviews before visiting but as it is very local to us and looks like such a lovely old pub we decided to give it a try. The bar staff were ok but the lady running the dining room didn't seem to have a clue what was going on. We were at one point surrounded by about 5 people hovering in the middle of the room waiting for a table as she had lead them half way in and then wandered off to sort something out.

Our visit was on a quiet Thursday night so I've no idea what the place would be like if it was really busy. We will probably try it out again if we were with a larger party as we would be less likely to notice what was going on around us, but not a great first impression of our new local pub.
