Prague London Reviews

My Local - When I moved to Shoreditch a few months ago I spent my evenings in Prague - they had free wifi and I had none! The staff here are really friendly, drinks are reasonably priced and the red wine is good.

The only small complaint I would have is that there is only one bathroom. And sometimes the lights are a little bit too low. Otherwise, this is a great little bar!

Finally, a proper Budweiser! - Having walked past Prague dozens of times, I had never done more than peer inside. Finally, last night, I got a chance to squeeze into the cozy space with some old acquaintances and meet some new ones! The space isn't very big, but it seems to always be crammed, and with good reason. The narrow bar has small tables on either side that, when full, nearly touch in the middle, which can make getting topping up your tipple a bit of a challenge.

Still, there is great energy in the place, and a pretty cool look, with exposed brick walls and wheatpasted posters covering some of the walls. Oddly there is what appears to be a reasonably sized downstairs area that was not open when I visited, but would presumably do some good in alleviating the crunch upstairs. Oh well.

But the beer - ah this is what I meant to talk about (thus the title). I was quite pleased to try the Budweiser Budvar Dark Lager, which was a rich, choclate-y and somewhat nutty elixir, which I proceeded to gulp down. They also have the regular lager (but not, I would presume, the tasteless American version). Basically, I was happy guzzling this stuff down, but other people in my group seemed equally pleased with their mixed drinks and wine, so it looks to me like this place has all the bases covered. Just be prepared to squeeze.

Great bar in buzzy Shoreditch - Went to this bar for a friends birthday. Havent been out in Shoreditch for while. What a great little bar (as long as you get over the slight smell of damp - its not that bad really) and what a great area (if anyone knows Berlin, Shoreditch has the same vibe).

Would definitely go there again and the staff are really friendly.

Joel happy birthday man.

A little czech oasis - Prague is the ideal place to chill on a friday evening. Its calm atmosphere, fairly low lighting and battered leather sofas go perfectly with the array of czech beers and other stuff on offer.

Most importantly though, it'd seem most people haven't realised this and don't come in to crowd and ruin it. Even at the busiest times of week you should be able to get a seat and relax with the other people fortunate enough to know it is there.

good wifi, odd cheese - Being 'freelance' I'm always looking for places that have free wifi so I can escape the dreaded cabin fever of my flat. Prague was my 'office' for a few months last year and I would recommend it to anyone. It has great coffee which they stop serving at around 5 or 6 when it turns into a lovely spot for cosy red wines and chats.

The only thing I would say is watch out for the food - the platter consists of some bread like stuff, some platted cheese and pickled pate - I don't know if this is how they do things in Prague for real but I don't know that it translates so well.
