John Snow pub - nice pub, shame about the manager/landlord!!! seems he has little regard for customers, when i first visited at the end of last year i commented about a group of lads collected in the toilets snorting what i believe was cocaine and was told to keep my mouth shut! on a later occasion i mentioned two lads dividing a bag of brown powder in the same toilets, was frowned at and told the same. Today i reported theft of items from my table while i was outside answering the phone, and the manager threatened to "through (me) through the door" so maybe the fool needs to learn about customer service!

"Like the budgie" - The John Snow, part of the Samuel Smith brewery, is a small pub inexplicably divided into even smaller areas with strange wooden half-walls. Despite the limited space it attracts a lot of people, particularly young creatives spilling out from nearby agencies. The main draw is obviously the promise of a pint for under £2 - albeit from a plastic glass a lot of the time. There is also a lively and friendly atmosphere, particularly in the summer when the party spills onto the pavement and into the Soho roads. Great place for those on a budget, who are often restricted in this part of town!

cheap booze - one of a few in this chain, The John Snow is cheap as chips for a drink... if you want a cheap pint in london and arent fussed over your surroundings then this is the pub for you. Very central as well, right in the heart of Soho. Start your night here with a cheeky pint or 6 then head to a more upmarket venue where one drink will cost you the same as 6 in the John Snow!

Fantastic English pub - The decor here is awful, the carpet is old, and it's a tight squeeze inside. Yet, this is part of what makes this pub so good. The service is always friendly and the beer is really cheap (about £1.70 pint). How can you pass that up?

A good venue for after work drinks and in summer you can stand outside.
