The Thomas Cubitt Pub in Belgravia is named after one of London’s most famous master builders and has earned itself a name as a local institution.
Their pub is located on Elizabeth Street and only a short walk from Victoria Station, Sloane Square Station and Pimlico station. This British Gastropub is set over three unique and beautifully designed floors prominently positioned close to Tate Britain and The Saatchi Gallery. In their restaurant, we locally and seasonally source the best British meat and finest veg to ensure that the classic English tradition of a Sunday Roast couldn’t get any better. In their bar, we have carefully selected a list that brings together some amazing small and boutique producers to provide over 30 wines by the glass.

Crickety Gastropub in Belgravia - The first thing I noticed when I entered was how English this place is. A maisonette house turned gastropub with hardwood floors, big bar, large wooden tables, old art and huge window. But then we were taken up the crooked stairs with low ceilings to our private dining room (large group of us) that had even older art on the wall, a fireplace which made it cosy and a small bar. Wonderful feel to the place.

The service was great. They had our wine and water glasses poured practically as we walked in and were attentive the entire time. We has a set menu but everything looked delicious (and was). I had the cured salmon with Mary sauce as a starter; braised lamb shoulder over parsnip and carrot puree with roasted vegetables (beets, sweet potatoes) for my main; and sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and ginger-cookie bits. Everything was very tasty and very filling.

Lovely pub but always way too busy - Serves a good pint and the food is really yummy, but its always full of way too many media-types (Google office just around the corner) who think they're too cool for school. Annoyingly you also can't book tables for dinner downstairs only in the resto upstairs...

Get there early for lunch - Great gastropub in Belgravia but close enough for those working in Victoria (me)! I would describe the menu as 'fresh'. Great mixture of meat, fish, vegetarian with different specials each day. I've only eaten at the bar, there is a more formal/expensive restaurant upstairs. Food is light enough to have two courses for lunch. I had a wonderful butternut squash soup which had the sweetness balance just right. Previously the fish cakes were great, with an excellent mash on the side.
