Great, friendly, smart - I go to the Chutney quite a lot. It's set in a nice non main-road location with an area out the front if you fancy your curry al-fresco.

Inside, the room is bright with no dodgy wallpaper and/or decorations and the staff are smart and friendly. With their pressed open-necked shirts, they look more like entrepreneurs than waiters - which I like. There's something a bit odd about sitting in a restauarant in jeans being served by someone wearing a bow-tie.

I'm not a curry expert, and always go for something lamb based. But I've always been impressed: the food is never swimming in grease, it's always well presented and the portions are just about right (do I sound like Goldilocks?).

There's nothing particularly remarkable about Chutney - it's just good, honest food, in a nice setting. Possibly slightly more expensive than your traditional curry house, but worth it for the atmosphere and better quality of ingredients.
