Peace in central London - I have lived close to this cafe for 18 years and have been in many times over the years. Never really happy with it until now. The present owners, Have it in my opinion, perfect for what it is, A Caf'e with a very good and excellently priced menu. Lets not forget location how perfect all year round stunning views over the canal at Little Venice. some people are saying a bit slow on service, well if you relax and take a deep breath and enjoy the location its not slow. Good food takes time it is not a fast food joint. Take a two minute walk to Clifton road to eat, the price will soar and the food or service will not get any better.

I highly recommend if it is on their specials board

Linguine with king Prawns and a asparagus Sauce WOW

Liars - We walked into this place while strolling the Regent's Canal a Sunday 5pm. After saying we only wanted drinks, we were told with a slight scowl there were only cold drinks available. Being naive, we didn't take the hint and ordered a beer and a juice. Meanwhile, we noticed other tables with hot drinks and hot drinks being made while we waited.

We confronted them and were told they said no hot drinks due to the lack of milk. That was it - she needed to take a class in lying. We walked out.

This is a classic "for-the-view" place with a brutal tradeoff in service and competence.

Wretched Service - Despite having a great setting and fantastic view, this restaurant should be avoided. The service is truly mediocre - mixed up our order twice & took 20min between courses despite restaurant being empty. Also, tried to book an event there for some friends and restaurant couldn't be bothered to return my call; I gave up after the 6th attempt.

How to Charm Your American Paramour - Picture this... It's your girlfriend's first trip to London. Or maybe you hooked up with a visitor and you've been roped into the role of dashing tour guide.

You want to show her some interesting, photo-worthy sites for the folks back home, but the last thing you want to do is subject her to the queues at the London Eye, the gawkers at the Tower, or the drooling masses at Madame Tussaud's. (In fact, if you take a lover to any of those, you should have your Casanova Card revoked, and your head duly examined.)

How about a walk down the canals of Little Venice? It's pretty. It's charming. It's uncrowded. It's full of Kodak moments. And there's almost nothing in the way of your gal throwing you down on a park bench and doing unspeakably lascivious things to you in a swirl of romantic urges.

But before I get ahead of myself - and before the lovin' begins - breakfast is in order. And there's no better place for brekky than Cafe La Ville. Straddling the canal and affording a view you usually only see in travel brochures, the cafe is a splendidly romantic little place to fuel up with a full English and a pot of tea.

Service can be a bit brusque, and possibly a bit absent-minded at times. And the food is average at best. But the location and the view cannot be bested on a sunny day.

Just don't let your companion see the bill - this is a very cheap date.

There. Now that you know how to get into an American girl's pants, I expect you to trust me in everything that I say.
