Established in 1995 by Japanese stylist Seiji Kamei and his English wife Tina, Capa Hair Salon is a premier hair salon in Mayfair. French and Japanese are spoken as well as English. Capa offer customers a range of unique styling methods, including Japanese massage shampoo and hair straightening techniques. An eco-friendly business, the salon uses mostly Aveda products, which are not tested on animals.

Somewhere worth recommending - I have for about 3 years now been using the same hairdresser, he comes to my house and dont get me wrong he is fantastic. However i was recommended Capa Hair Salon by a friend,so i decided to give it ago.

I do not regret in the sligtest my experience there. They did exactly as i asked and my highlights were the perfect colour.

I went to a party that evening, and i have never had so many comments about my hair in one night. Deffiently a salon worth recommending.

The Highlight of my year - I have been going to this salon for quite a few years, making an 80-mile round trip every 5 weeks simply because this is the only place I have found where they manage to get both my colour AND haircut spot on. The senior stylist who does my hair, Malika, is the best colourist I have ever used (my hair is black and colourists usually seem intent on making it look even blacker, and hence flatter) and she cuts and styles hair with a lot of flair. Recently she surpassed herself by suggesting she put highlights in my hair, something I had never considered before. But the result was amazing and very subtle (the highlights a beautiful dark red shade).
The shampoos are quite an experience where a Japanese massage technique is used, a very relaxing way of getting your hair washed (with fabulous Aveda products).
The salon has also recently introduced a loyalty card which is a great idea especially if you need to go and have your roots done as often as I do!

Very expensive mistake..... - I was so looking forward to my badly needed roots to be highlighted and my unruly curls to be tamed at last...

Instead what I got was 4 hours of confusion and instead of highlights; my hair is now darker than it has ever been. I was quoted £90 for half head highlights and cut when I originally went in for a consultation and almost fainted when the told me that I had to pay £215!!!!

Fortunately I only had £90 with me as I had budgeted for that amount. This was meant to be a treat after a stressful few months and instead I'm left with a colour that looks drab and a cut that isn't suitable for my hair. I had a nightmare trying to style it this morning.

In a nutshell, the stylist did exactly as he wanted including insisting on a strange blow dry which I didn't want as my hair is naturally curly and I always leave it to dry naturally. He didn't seem to grasp the concept of curly hair and just kept talking about hair straighteners.

I then went back today to see if there was anything they could do and to try & sort out the mix up in the prices. Their attitude was appalling. They were rude and didn't offer any options to help put it right. They just kept telling me that he is a top stylist and has been there for 10 years, but that doesn't make it right or give him a free reign to change my colour completely! I'm really shocked as all the girls from my office go here but they have now cancelled their appointments in protest.

I'd be very careful about going here and certainly double check the cost of everything they are doing.
