Maxi's Express Leeds Reviews

The Three Golden Rules Of Buffets - We all love all you can eat Chinese! Maxis is great for that, and it's right next to the cinema which is awesome too.

Maxis looks really cool inside, it's bright and colourful, with all dragons and stuff. The most important part, is the food is really good; it's the best Chinese buffet I've been to in Leeds. This is why I tend to go here whenever there's a birthday or some other event worth eating about. I like the starters best, I always get at least one full plate of onion rings, spring rolls and other deep fried things. There are loads of mains too, they are all great and you can get some pretty spicy stuff if you're into that.

It's important though, to now tell you of The Three Golden Rules Of All You Can Eat Buffets:

(1) Don't put off going to an all you can eat buffet when you know you want to. Prolonging the situation will only make things worse.

(2) Only order water, never beers. Beer will only slow you down.

(3) Your gut has a separate nervous system to the rest of your body, and it is capable of working independently. It will send a message to your brain to make you feel full after around 20 minutes of eating. This is possibly a survival mechanism, to stop us gorging beyond the point that we can escape predators. Therefore it is imperative that you DO NOT PACE YOURSELF. It's a rookie mistake, I see it all the time and it WILL reduce the total amount you can eat. That said, do remember to chew. The flip side is, of course, that if you are dieting or something and don't want to eat as much as you can, you may pace yourself.

I like to do a massive weights workout before going. This has many advantages, which may or may not apply to you. Firstly, it will remove any guilt you might have. Secondly, the protein in the food will be made use of to recover from your workout. Finally, and most importantly, it will greatly improve your appetite. I think other forms of exercise would have a similar effect.

Last time I went, it was about £7 per person for the buffet, but I think it's a couple of quid more in the evenings. I think you can also just order a meal normally, but I couldn't comment on that as I've never done so.

Also, all the staff here are beyond polite, you should tip them. This is important because staff can make or break a place. Definitely worth going, but always remember The Three Golden Rules Of All You Can Eat Buffets.
