Richmond Park, at almost 1000 hectares (2500 acres), is the largest Royal Park in London and is home to around 650 free roaming deer. The pastoral landscape of hills, woodlands, ponds, gardens and grasslands set amongst ancient trees offers a peaceful respite to visitors. The Park is designated as a National Nature Reserve (NNR), a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC).

Richmond Park London Reviews

Get away from it all - A vast expanse of nature at the edge of London. You can spend an entire day in Richmond park wandering around the different terrains or riding your bike. You can even pretend you're in the Blair Witch project or the Deer Hunter within wooded areas to make things even more interesting. There are numerous places to stop for refreshments or better - just bring your own picnic. The park is also teeming with deer which makes for interesting viewing – mind the early autumn breeding season (especially if you have dogs) when the males are rampant and competing for the affection of the ladies (deer that is..). A big stag intently watching you from 50 yards away can be rather unnerving. If you're arriving by car there are several ways into the park (as well as through it), but park up as soon as you can and venture out into the great outdoors.
