Excellent! Could not fault - We had Ability Plumbers in on monday to install a new gas cooker for us, paul from ability turned up he was very polite and worked very hard to get the job done at a very high standard, fantastic job. I Found it very difficult to search for a genuine plumbing company on the web as prices seemed very mixed and some very over priced, Ability quoted just £65ph plus vat compared to some as much as £85ph plus vat. Would highly recommend ability plumbers.

Should be "Inability Plumbers" - We had a blocked drain and called out Ability Plumbers to assist. The person who arrived had absolutely no idea what to do. He did not have the right tools to open our manhole and damaged the tiles in our basement floor in his attempts to do so. When he did eventually open the manhole he was completely flummoxed as to how to proceed -it really did appear that he never encountered a blocked drain before. When he left the problem was exactly as it had been before, and he still charged us £82!!! The Ability Plumbers website states that they can "•Unblock any Drain, Gutter, Gully, Bath, Sink or toilet" - clearly not true. And also that they do "High Pressure Water Jetting". But when we asked this guy about the water jetting he told us that they didn't have that equipment because you needed a really big van to carry it! Will absolutely positively never even consider using these people again.

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR - I would like to respond to this review on behalf of the company as I feel very bad for the inconvenience the company has caused to this customer. Ability Plumbers has been let down by a number of un-reliable engineers and this has caused very un happy customers. Its a real shame as the work carried out has been completed at a high standard, just the time keeping has let us down. I also would like to inform all our new customers we have employeed more reliable staff and we assure you this will not happen again. Ability Plumbers are always keen to take constructive criticism on board to help improve our customer service.

Unreliable - Our boiler broke in the middle of the night last October, and needed to be replaced immediately. Ability Plumber's quote for the work was perfect (and matched other quotes we got) - and they could do the work the next day. Hired.

Unfortunately, after the initial installation of the boiler and our payment, everything went downhill. They were supposed to come back the next day and fix a few things, and only finally turned up after we told them that we were going to hire a new plumber and send them the bill if they didn't turn up. (We probably called them 20 times and had 8 different appointments set in that time that they just didn't turn up for).

When we realised that radiator that they supposedly fixed when installing the boiler was still broken, we asked them to come back. We also had a couple of other things going wrong, but because we wanted them to look at our drain to, we offered to pay the call out charge to cover the radiator (and other random issues we've had with the water since they installed the boiler).

I shouldn't be surprised - but they didn't show up. We called, they apologised said that someone would definitely turn up no later than 8:15 am the next day. That was Tuesday. Since it's Saturday now, with still no sign of the plumber, I'm sorry to say that they won't be getting any more business from us.

They, might however, be getting a bill for fixing that radiator.
