Westfield London London Reviews

Decent shops in Shepherds Bush! - This shopping centre is huge and has shops to keep most people happy from New Look for cheaper fashion to designer labels if you have cash to splash! As the centre has only been open 3 weeks the weekends are very busy (of course) but the evening times are very relaxed - I went after work and the shops were empty and there were plent of seats in the food court and in the restaurants.

The building itself is pretty special - check out the Village area with the spectacular chandaliers!

I am glad that I now have an alternative to the West End when I want to go to department stores, Top Shop et al on my doorstep and its a pleasure to shop in the warm and dry when its pouring outside.

Finally, if you don't like the crowds I would say wait until the new year, when Christmas has past and all the "lets go and just have a look" people have gone - it will be great then!

A new shopping hell - I've just had one seriously traumatic experience in London so far. Undoubtedly, my number one was shopping at Oxford Street before Christmas. I'm one hundred percent sure that I won't repeat that mistake again. Why the hell did I go to Westfields then? Didn't even expect that the place might be like Christmas heat at Oxford Street but 365 days a year...I was just thinking that it'll be the next shopping centre but in extraordinary architectural convention so it's worth to see that... I wasn't disappointed- the building is really amazing ...but that what was happening inside was a real nightmare! Thousands of people, thousands of bags, new consumptionism, new hell.
This shopping venue is really enormous so it can easily hold inhabitants of a few London boroughs. I think that it's a great place for homeless as well as it's really warm and nice inside. Apart from that- what's crucial here- there are about 300 hundreds shops for people coming from different levels of financial society so everybody can please his shopping vanity somehow. I gave up after seeing 3 shops (of course, didn't buy anything)- I simply couldn't stand the crowd.
If somebody is a shopalcoholic that's the perfect place to develop his/her addiction- in any other case, I'd suggest to visit a venue after the New Year.

Misery with a capital M! - This place is basically Oxford Street within 2 levels. While it's nice and new and a great way to get out of the rain to shop, it is packed with people and prams the size of SUVs.

If you really want to shop there, do NOT go on a weekend and go first thing in the morning when the kids are napping!

Sucks - OMG! this is just what London needs, I've been living here for about 7 years and I'm constantly thinking this city really sucks for shopping, I mean yeah there's a Marks and Spencers on the corner of my street but the Topshop is like a whole tube journey away. Granted its right next to the Uniqlo and Ted Baker and Cos and HAckett but then you realise that Nando's is ages away.

Anyway some bright spark decided to put all these awesome high end stores in one huge (43 acre) shopping centre - AWESOME!

Never mind that huge credit card bill eating away at my soul - I'm a shopoholic and proud. Never mind the fact that we're all going to lose our jobs and living off baked beans for the next couple of years, at least I'll have some awesome memories of that dinner at Gourmet Burger Kitchen and the time I purchased those awesome socks from Gap.

Finally Londoners have some decent new shops!
