Defeat the new world of order - I'd been to Westbourne Studios once before. I didn't even have a look at the interior design that time as I was at the massive party so who would care...(or who would remember). Yesterday I had a sober perception of the place and I'm delighted! I don't really like modern architecture but modern architecture in such a dodgy area! It's something like black snow or water in the dessert- really unique!
The building itself looks strange. You may have an impression that it's linked with a motorway and it's three-dimensional....
The space is quite huge and very trendy. I'd even say 'posh' (in a negative sense somehow) but still funky thanks to people visiting it. There's a really nice bar (prices are ok), a few galleries, recording studios (haven't seen them) and the small auditorium designed for theatre or film (right now it's one of Portobello Film Festival venues). Oh! And there are some gigs and parties from time as well but they're rather expensive.
I can't imagine Westbourne Studios during the daytime, I'm a bit afraid that it may look like Canary Wharf's unwanted step-sister. Anyway, at night with lots of sofas, nice music and romantic (?) lights it looks marvellous!
