Quiet, but nice service - The Park varies between being very quiet and buzzing with people and chatter. Either way, I have a massive soft spot for the place.
The current owners have improved The Park *dramatically* and steered it away from being a place popular only with scummy, terrifying locals, to a pleasant, relaxed, tastefully decorated bar - the kind of place you might bring your mum and dad along to - with sofas and outdoor terraces and a staggering array of brand new board games!
Scott and Nick, who run the bar, are always polite and friendly and offer table service, which is a big bonus!
Food wise, it's freshly made pizzas (they're seriously good pizzas) a 'pasta of the day' and snacky things like big baskets of prawn crackers and sweet chilli sauce. It's not a massively diverse dinner menu, but the food IS massively tasty and satisfying and you never have to wait long for your order to turn up.
On Sundays, there are roasts on the menu, including veggie options, which I've heard are very good, though I've yet to try one!
The pub quiz on Thursday evenings is one of the best and friendliest around and well worth checking out.
If you live locally, do pay The Park a visit. Nice bars in West Norwood are hard to come by and should be encouraged wherever possible!
