Viet Garden London Reviews

Favourite take-away... - Easliy one of my favourite take aways, always quick, fresh and very tasty. Occasionally the portion sizes are a little stingy but generally really good value.

Although it is the same price to eat-in we tend to take-away as on the couple of occasions we have eaten here the dishes arrived one at a time and they were so busy it was a little bit too hap-hazard to be enjoyable

Soup You Won’t Pho-get - I get takeaway from here about once a week cause it’s family run, has good food, great service, decent prices, and is about 5 minute walk from my flat.

Food wise, I tend to eat the large Chicken Pho every time. It tastes great, at least as good as any Vietnamese on Kingsland Road, like the spice that comes from fresh chillies and is a good value at £5.50. Quite often I get an order of Summer Rolls, also always really good, everything fresh, but I’d say an average value at £3.50. Once I was pretty drunk and ordered Chicken in Tamarind, but the chicken had the skin on and was deep fried which isn’t really my thing.

Service is great, the girls are cool, always smiling and food comes fast, that’s when you eat in of course. If you order takeaway they are lightning fast and have plenty of cold beer available, including an obscure Vietnamese one (can’t remember the name) that I always get.

Fresh, fantastic Veitnamese - Viet Garden is one of my neighbourhood locals, and one of the few Vietnamese restaurants in Islington. I eat there often not because it’s amazing, but because it’s really good with the right price and the perfect distance to my home to get take-away. And I LOVE Veitnamese food.

Like most Vietnamese places I’ve been to, I find just a few dishes excellent such as their specialties (which are clearly denoted with a * on the menu) like their fresh summer prawn rolls with peanut dipping sauce(just the perfect balance of peanut butter and plum sauce); all their rice noodle soups (Pho & Bhun); and their Goi Salad with tofu is a must every time I go there. Dishes range from £3-£8 but their soups with all the trimmings are around £5.

When I’ve ordered some of their main dishes or my friends have, my rating becomes “Good”. Luckily I’m a creature of habit so order what I know is best and stick to it time and time again.

Although I’ve eaten in their restaurant several times, and they are always busy on weekend nights, their take-away is superb and always ready within 10 minutes form when I call. Their staff are friendly and atmosphere is nice with pleasant background music, a fresh flower on each table and set in an English Tudor.
