Flaxon Ptootch London Reviews

Art and partying in Kentish Town - flaxon ptootch is an independent, not-for-profit-so-far gallery that reflects the diversity of its north London home. Since it was established in 1994, this gallery has become a focal point for local artists and has witnessed the neighbourhood’s cultural flowering. It is an unintimidating, accessible and open-fronted space bringing art to all sorts. I find it easy to walk into, unlike some art place where you always feel like you are in the wrong clothes!

Public preview evenings offer a varied slice of London’s diverse art scene and run from 7pm until 9pm(-ish) on the second Thursday of every month throughout the year. If you get there early you get free drinks and canapés! Previous lively events have included spoken word, poetry, fashion shows and music (including appearances by D.J. Semtex, I Blame Coco, Mr. Hudson & The Library, bits of the Alabama Three, Jimmy Screech and playwright Nick Grosso’s Edinburgh Festival show).

Worth checking the webiste for listings: www.flaxonptootch.com
