Circle London Reviews

Circle Bar/ Forgettable - I have just got home after staying with friends in Clapham for a few days.
They say "save the best till last" in this case nothing could be further from the truth. Last night we went to the Circle Bar, there were quite a few people in the bar, a quiz night was taking place. It took ages to get served at the bar, empty glasses and spilled lager on the counter.
We decided to order some food, things did not get much better. The food was innocuous, we didn't enjoy it. Not a good evening at all.

Circle Bar, Poor food. - Well I suppose all good things must come to an end.
Our office staff have been using the Circle bar for about the last six months. We would eat on average twice to three times a week during the lunch time. We have all thoroughly enjoyed the Thai food during these months. But twice this week, when we received our lunch it was awful, the food was only warm and the taste was distinctly different from before. It's a great shame as this was a good place to eat, but alas no more.

Circle Bar / Clapham Rd & Union Str - I recently celebrated my birthday and booked out the rear-garden. All in all the experience was a good one but was sadly marrred by an over-zealous manager. Never the less, the Circle Bar is one of the better gastro pubs around Clapham and Stockwell, the thai food is incredible, beatifully presented, generous portions and most importantly, really really fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly and attentive at all times, happily plying us with champers and constant stream of drinks, making sure everyone was well watered. The only downside was when the manager decided it was ok to interupt the party in search for payment for 13 pints of beer that had mysteriously been drawn and drunk. Given that I was running a pretty hefty tab behind the bar (the plastic fantastic set down for whatever damage was being dealt), I felt she could've broached subject when it was time to pay and told her so, at which point it got a little nasty and very pointless. We decided to move the party elsewhere as a result - but that was after 5/6 hours of serious patronage. Never the less, if you find yourself in the area, and are looking for a bar with a bit of a "local" feel - you can't beat the Circle for food, atmosphere and a good time - the over-zealous profit protecting manager aside of course.

Not your average sports bar - Excellent venue for sports viewing especially the rugby, with good visibility from one massive big screen and one large plasma. All areas can be pre-booked. The staff are very friendly and cheerful. Good authentic fresh Thai food, with mouth watering flavours prepared by a genuine Thai chef!

There's an area with big leather sofa's for chillin' and a 'secret garden' at the back that does BBQ's in the Summer
