Brixton Institution - Ah the Dog Star. I have happy memories of this place from many night spent here as a student. And it’s still as dodgy as I remember it! Happy days. No visit to Brixton should be without it. Huge cavernous bar, with good music nights and an interesting mix of people. Bar staff are quick and efficient and they have a good selection of well priced drinks. I love the fact it’s still full of crazy characters – including a man old enough to be my grandfather raving manically to the music before trying to chat up my friend and then falling over. It’s certainly not a refined night out, but sometimes there’s nothing like a bit of dirty fun! 08-06-09
