Benny's serve a variety of fish and chip meals as well as a selection of pies, sausages, kebabs, fried chicken and burgers. They also operate as a mini convenience store selling sweets, snacks and cigarettes. DVD's and videos are also available to hire.

One of a kind - Benny, the great man behind "Bennys" is a character. His chips are really tasty (cooked in ground nut oil "as much for health benefits as taste" - yeah right). But along with the chips, you also get to meet Benny himself, who will be the most upbeat, welcoming chip shop host you could ever hope to meet.

And his talents don't just stop at deep fried culinary delights. He is also a part-time actor. I always thought that the signed photos of celebrities on the wall were from grateful customers, but I'm thinking they could be from his peers. He recently starred in an advert for Braun, playing a mafia Don.

For good, honest fish and chips, served up with a friendly bit of banter, Benny's your man. A regular Friday lunchtime treat for me and my colleagues.
