Gourmet Burger Kitchen London Reviews

very dissapointed - I am very disappointed with the food. I took the family out for a treat.
We had two cheeseburgers and one small burger for the kids. There was relish in ours, which was so sweet I srubbished it off and so did my wife. Had to return the coleslaw as it was too sweet again. To put sugar in the food is a very bad sign as it probably masks something and I do not want sweet food! You cannot have your meat rare which is also a bad sign. To get an extra tomato or lettuce on the small burger costs extra. Like a pound and something! The burgers were also dry, which is quite difficult as mine was medium rare.
And finally the chocolate shake... Oh dear, oh dear. The quality of the vanilla ice cream is very bad. It is just a very milky not thick at all chocolate drink with bad chocolate syrup. It should be made with chocolate ice cream in the first place. Also it was not mixed properly so there was ice cream all on the bottom. My sons left half of it on the table, because they did not like it. No surprise there!
And finally the quantity of the fries were small!
You also do not get mustard served, the plate comes only with the burger on it and nothing else. So it looks very sparce. Just felt that they are only interested in your money!
If you want a good burger rather head 5 minutes off the path and go to Lucky 7!

Finally - a burger with pineapple! - A late movie at The Electric Cinema and little time to eat before hand had me heading to the Gourmet Burger Kitchen across the street from the cinema. As I perused the menu I was pleasantly surprised to see a burger down under style - beef burger with egg, beetroot, pineapple, onions and salad. However I am assuming GBK is owned by New Zealanders as they dared to call this delightful burger a 'Kiwiburger' and they also had 2 types of NZ beer on the list.

But I forgave them the naming issue, as the burger was delicious, although it was big enough to serve two people. No chance of fitting that in your mouth unless you are a hippo. Ordering a side of fries was futile as it was a challenge to finish the burger. My secret - skip the bread and eat all the yummy bits inside. And it was a tasty burger.

Wonderful for a 'fast food' joint, you can eat in and even have a glass of vino or beer. Top marks for a cheap and cheerful meal.
