37 degrees - 37 has a very bad reputation. But you may wish to know they have finally got rid of a few bad apples..... Especially the gym floor manager (about time) and the studio coordinator who was disliked by staff, members and instructors alike. With the gym floor manager leaving (jumped more like) you will find a new attitude from staff. You will also find the evenings on the gym floor and classes not as busy as all his friends on cash for memberships will no longer be attending. With the studio coordinator leaving you will find the level of instructors will improve as many who decided not to teach at 37 did so because of her and have all been waiting to return once she was finally kicked out. I for one am not a fan of 37 but with the new over all manager coming in and making these changes so soon you know the level of service all round will improve. One strange aspect to the changes as 37 is that the former over all manager Simon was moved to the 37 Olympia branch but he should have also been sacked as he knew all about the issues with the gym manager and studio coordinator probably only aster of time ;-)

Con artists - avoid like plague - Can't over emphasise how much this gym should be avoided.

I was a member there for over 3 years. Pretty poor gym for the price, showers often cold, never given proper induction, training sessions that the instructors put together were done in a half hearted way and not very good ("lots of light reps for cardio, heavy to build muscle"....great advice).
Absolute clincher for making this the worst gym I've ever joined was that when I left their membership screwed up and didn't know so thought I owed them money and started legal procedings. Bailiffs, county court judgements etc. they didn't give a hoot "sorry contract says you have to pay..." was their attitude. Like most people I expect a contract for a gym to be fair balanced and reasonable and not see me landed with threats from bailiffs etc. just shows them at the end of the day to be a nasty money grabbing bunch of people

If you want to join an average overpriced gym with distinctly average service and be taken to court when you leave then join this one if not join virgin active, fitness first or any other big chain. Awful company.

Annoyed I have to even give the place one star, don't deserve it.

Bad customer service - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT 37 DEGREES
A few months ago i went there with a friend, and being a member at another gym with another 6 months left on the contract, the sales girl promised that i could have cancelled at any time given proof of "change of address", so I had been stupid enough to sign up.
I had visited and tried the gym when it opened, and i liked it the first time around, but after signing the contract, i walked into the gym area and it was packed, no machines were free, so I IMMEDIATELY said I wanted to cancel the membership. The girl persuaded me to have a trial, and after realising the poor quality of the machines, i told them i was not interested. After many phone calls to find out what was happening, i had to go there in person and spoke to the manager, who sat with me for 3 minutes and all he said was: bottom line you signed a 12 months contract and you have to pay" - even if i cancelled 2 MINUTES after signing the contract.
I wrote a letter, cancelled the direct debit, and NEVER HEARD FROM THEM, never had a copy of the contract, or a membership card.
6 months later, i get a letter from a credit management company saying i owe them £444!!!!!
I AM FURIOUS!
They are some filthy greedy people, only interested in making money!
Don't get fooled!
