Portobello Star serves a selection of beers, real ales, wines and spirits. During the week they serve toasted sandwiches and bar snacks and a cooked breakfast and lunch at the weekends. They have a television and a juke box for your entertainment. Pavement seating is provided.

loud but chill - Their coffees are really strong, their wine list is good, and they have a colourful cocktail menu. The crowd is young and the music is loud. Its a galley style bar w small tables and low chairs. I've never had food there, usually because I get there too late and they're already out of everything except muffins. They have free WiFi which is great, (but no juke box like the description up here says and definitely no tv - thankfully!)
Its the type of place to go for casual, happening drinks. The kind of place you'ld want to do shots in, but somehow you still feel at home.
On Portobello Rd, contrary to popular beleif, this is not common.
Otherwise, they have all kinds of newspapers on the bar for people to read, the outdoor seating is nice cuz they're located on a cool corner, and they're open from morning till about 1am. Good for coffee, good for drinks.
All that is pretty great but there is still something about this place that annoys me. I can't put my finger on what it is. Maybe its because the staff seem too into their own thing, they don't smile much. But I do still keep going back for more. I like the simple little cool bar feel to it.
