Bad Experience - I did not have a great experience with Abiba.
First, the price. They are very negotiable. I dislike haggling, I prefer to be given a fair price so I can decide whether or not to pay it. I chose a ring very similar to one that was in their window. The window ring was platinum and had a price tag on it. I wanted white gold and I was quoted a higher price than the platinum. When I queried this, I was told that the prices change every day and the price of platinum must have been low on the day they put that ring in the window. All sounded dodgy, but after some haggling we ended up with 2 wedding rings for a total price that was within our expectations so we went with it.
Second, the service. Most of the staff at Abiba seems to be part time and fairly incompetent. It is a long story, but we went in the shop to try on the rings for size prior to setting the diamonds and engraving. They didn't record that we'd come in, so two weeks later when the rings should have been ready I was called again and asked to come in to try the rings on. Finally, a few weeks after that I was told the rings were ready, so I went to the shop only to find them in the same state they were when we had tried them on and the store staff seemed confused. We had pre-paid for the rings and Abiba would not budge on the price or give us any compensation at all for the problems we'd had. They would not even courier the rings to me, we had to take more time off of work to go back to the shop and pick them up when they were finally ready. Also, I sent Abiba an email, but was told that they rarely check email. I'm not sure why a business would publish an email address that they don't check.
For a purchase as expensive and sentimental as wedding rings, I would definitely not go to Abiba again as I'm sure that you could not get worse service at any other shop in Hatton Garden.
