The Junction Tavern is a gastro pub that serves an array of simple yet classic dishes from their menus which change every day. The open-plan kitchen and comfortably spaced tables make this venue seem more like a friendly restaurant than a pub. Light snacks are also available.

Great Gastro Pub - The road between Kentish Town and Archway taking in Tufnell Park has some really good venues for an area that at first sight you might not think to stop and eat. The Junction Tavern is one of these.

A big open kitchen and cosy pub dinning room style, this place really has got a great look and is somewhere that you won't want to leave. Fortunately we started Sunday evening, if we had started at lunch we would have been there all day.

Most of us went for the Sunday roast beef with all the trimmings that did not disappoint. Arancici (risotto balls) filed with mozzarella and basil, served with tomato sauce were very good also - not heavy but lots of flavour. My starter of chicken liver parfait is another classic that you can easily rate / compare a restaurant on and last night's was really spot on. Our other starters were feta salads that rated well, and a mackerel salad that was good.

There is also a decent wine list, and they are CAMRA real ale pub of the year for 08 North London.

The staff were really friendly and helpful too. Along with St John further down the road (George Michaels favourite) and mine, and also the Vine this is a great area for pub restaurants.
