Identity UK London Reviews

Lovely Jubilee - I have been going to ID UK for 7 or so years and all of the hairdressers that I have used there have been able to advise me brilliantly on my curly mixed race hair: which in the past, used to prompt fear in other hairdressers at the huge mass of curls!! I like the confidence, ease and friendly style of ID UK hairdressers and am very grateful for introducing me to products that have really helped me to develop a lovely relationship with my curls.
I recommend anyone, black, white, brown or yellow to use ID UK-it has helped me to love my curls over the years. Sending love and good vibes to all at ID. Thank You.

Re Worst Haircut of my Life - I own this salon and want to take issue with this review by giving our side of the story and let you make up your mind.
The lady who wrote the review desperately wanted to get her hair cut as she was late for her appointment with her regular stylist at another salon and they would not see her. She had her child with her and refused to let us wash her hair before cutting it. Her child was sat on her lap causing the client to constantly move and not keep her head still.
The lady's hair was in quite bad condition, probably through the constant use of GHDs as she professes to use. The stylist agreed with her what to take off and proceeded to cut it. Now, why she thinks every stylist should have a pair of Jowell Scissors is beyond me; every sytlist has their own preferred brand and model.
And yes, we do not use traditional oven tongs for a very good reason. These heat up to very high temperatures and do not heat up evenly, unlike cermaic straighteners which we do use. This is very old technology and is bad as using hot combing. If she thinks it is normal and a good idea to use these, it is no wonder her hair was in such bad condition.
She left happy, I know as I asked her if she was pleased with the cut and she replied yes, so why she has choosen to write this negative review, I really do not know.
We pride ourselves on our work and will do everything possible to put things right if our clients are ever unhappy (very rarely but it can happen!). I did reply back to the lady when I got her message but she did not get back to me, so there is really nothing more we can do.
I was in two minds about writing this, as it feels like a little bit like sour grapes, but it is such an unfairly negative review, I thought I really had to redress the balance.

worst haircut of my life - i had heard good things about this salon in a magazine targeted at those with mixed/afro-carribean hair types. Those writing the reviews had obviously never actually sampled the abissmal services of their "stylists". I went in,(with difficulty considering the reception area and walkway into the main salon is similar to that of a rabbit hole)with a slightly outgrown graduated bob. I asked if this was the same place featured in the magazine which i was told it was, i asked whether they did afro hair, they said yes. my hair is natural virgin hair which i straighten out with ghds. A hungarian lady, who proffessed to have a mixed race child began "cutting" (as she called it), my hair. i asked for a trim, now not only did these peolpe not have ghds, the didnt have the traditional oven tongs used internationally in every black salon around the world! i asked for my hair to be club cut as it is natural so the "stylist" decided to POINT cut with if we only knew what brand of scissor as they were not Joelles let me tell you! after around 20 minutes, she had cut my hair completely uneven, disconnected all over the place, in at least 3 different cuts. I am a twenty five year old mother who wanted a trim and i left looking like a 45 year old manic depressive! This whole episode has completely ruined my summer, I have subsequently spent £150 on hair extensions,£40 on protein shampoos and conditioners, and i don't know how much in tissue to wipe my tears and electricity trying to make this massacre on m head look less like a dead animal and more like my hair! And would you believe, 5 weeks later and several phone calls plus one visit, the owner has still not gotten back to me?! DON'T GO THERE IF YOU LIKE YOUR HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
