yeah we'll call you back... bye... - Not interested... no reply to calls.... thank you for your premiums now go away... After having been my brokers for many years collecting my Building Insurance premiums and doing little else, I asked for their help when my premiums doubled to just under a thousand pounds overnight, for a two bedroom maisonette in South East London, following two non-fault claims...

Despite many calls it seems they are too busy collecting premiums from new unsuspecting clients and cannot be bothered to look afer existing customers... typical...

The building insurance is underwritten with a branch of Norwich Union who deals with brokers only, I cannot get to speak with anyone there direct either.

Since Embro Mallet cannot be bothered to help existing customers, this leaves me stuck with a huge premium and a building I cannot insure, with anyone else as my claims have been badly dealt with. There are two clear third parties whom Embro Mallet/ Norwhich Union can claim for damages to my building from, yet both choose to do nothing but raise my premiums and take my money with no recourse... You have been warned... My direct debit is with Norwich Union and Embro Mallet tried to have me change it to them, in which I saw no benefit at this time... Embro Mallet then wrote to me saying my policy wouldn't be renewed. A call to Norwich Union confirmed they were still collecting my renewal premiums, albeit at double the rate from the year before...

The claim incidentally would cost around a few hundred pounds to repair privately. Norwich Union employ so many expensive intermediaries, it will cost in excess of £3000 to have it done by thier builders, and the excess I have to pay is... One Thousand Pounds... plus a doubled premium also of almost One Thousand Pounds...

If I had left it, it would have cost me around 300-400 pounds from the local builders when I got around to having it patched up in the next round of general decorations. Having claimed on my insurance policy, has left me way out of pocket and the slight hairline crack in the wall resulting in my property having a subsidence claim registered against it by their surveyors...

Insurance companies moan about unreasonable claims, citing them as justification for raised premiums (with not insignificant profits) when they themselves do little to correctly assess the damage propperly and rate it accordingly...
