Fresh! - I used to pass this chippy a few years ago and the food was always really good. Last year things seemed to go down hill and I haven't been since.
Last week I was passing again and was in a hurry so thought I'd give it a try. What a revelation! The place is absolutely spotless, and I was greeted with a very pleasant lady. I had the Cod and Chips (not the sub par Haddock I got last year) and it was honestly the best I have tasted. The chips were hot with just the right level of crispiness.
In short, perfect!

new managment - mill lane chippy is now under new management again and is back up to the standard it used to be i have worked here for many years and worked with all the boses the new bosses are friendly and welcoming

what a load of rubbish - whats going on i thought i be patient hopefully the mill lane chippy would turn around and still keep going but since under new management its basically disgraceful. i have been going to the chippy for a long time and knew the last owners of the business, but its a shame they sold it to the dad and brother i think and oh cousin apparently his the grumpy chef. and they have made a cock up. They have tarnished the reputation of this once renowned chippy in cheshire. This arrogant guy has taken over very rude man, Staff are hopeless no authority with the staff, chips are either undercooked or too greasy, apparently staff have been overcharging and undercharging and no manners what so ever, this is feedback from others around macclesfield. been twice past 8 months NEVER AGAIN. food is terrible. Not friendly no warmth as onced upon time. but you might say there is still a queue. Well let me tell you the previous owners had 3-4 staff serving and were going fast with no mistakes (like a conveyer belt, a processing warehouse) and now there is a small queue but like other chippies in macclesfield 1 or 2 staff serving but very slow and a slow chef. I dread to think when they get big orders. Well anyway i do miss the old mill lane chippy. never be the same again. I will never go there again. Fosters in alderely edge will have to do

scrumptious - Living in macclesfield for over 3 years and have to say the mill lane chippy is the most outstanding chippy in the uk. first class fish and chips. First class cleansiness and service. But then what do you expect when there is always non stop queueing with 3 staff serving and very quick there is no do lallying like other chippies with one or two girls serving and taking their time. so therefore my hats of to a very demanding chippy in macclesfield may it reign.
