Henley Street Tea Rooms Stratford-Upon-Avon Reviews

comment on NOT GOOD FOOD review - a very rare day ...
i eat at henley street at least twice a week as i work round the corner the the food is great ive slowly worked my way throught most the menu and have never been disapointed and as for the chips there is nothing oven bake about them they are a must if eating there they are not called chunky for nothing.

the prices are in line with everywhere else in the street and asd you sit looking at 1 of the most famous houses in the world i think they could be a lot more .

i have to say coming across postings such as this makes me mad as this is based on one persons thoughts but has been put across in such an angry way, makes me think that they are the type to complain for the sake of it really unfair

long live henley street tearooms

Not good food - We had food here today, and it was the worst food we have had in a long time, and to top it up, it was insane expensive, £5.85 for a chees and bacon toast, hellooooo. Anywhay, i got it, thinking it would be the toast of all toasts. It was not, it was made with the cheapest bread, that i would not feed ducks with, and bacon that was dry and horrible. with a portion of mcains ovenbake chips for an extra £2.50, and to top it all up, a salad that was fresh last week, i am not joking my friends, the tomato was see through, the beetroot was black and dry, it just kept getting worse. Well i had about 3 bites of my toast, and about 4 chips, and desided this was enough, I went to pay the bill, and tol the manager in a very polite manner, that the food was not good at all, what did he do? NOTHING, just charged me full price and told me not to come again if i did not like the food there. Well needless to say, I will not. I encourage anyone who is thinking of eating here not to, as you will leave knowing you have wasted good money on bad food... I shall leave the rest up to you

Service with a smile. - Just thought I would write and let you all know the fantastic time we had in Henley Street Tea Rooms. The Staff were polite and welcoming even with two children in tow. We ordered full english breakfasts and enjoyed them so much we came back for lunch. The jacket potatoes and toasties were brilliant and the kids loved the chuncky chips.
My wife loves tea and was really surprised at the amount of loose leaf tea that they had, over 80! She opted for the Earl Grey Blue Lady which she really enjoyed and then dragged me to the little tea shop that stocked the tea to buy some, not only do we have 4 packets of tea to try but a nice new tea pot, cups and cake stand, that i didnt know we couldnt live without!!!!
We will definitly go back next time we are in Stratford.

Associates to Customers Not Welcome - My wife, her cousin and his two children, 8 and 10 years old and I, visited Stratford-upon-avon. My wife and I got mineral water for all of us from boots and a cup of Starbucks coffee for her.

We met back up with her cousin and his children. The kids wanted to drink hot chocolate so we went to the "Henley Street Tea Rooms" My wife and I were asked by an employee to leave because my wife was drinking Starbucks coffee whilst sitting in the farthest seats provided by the shop outside the shop in the public space. So without complaint we stood up and stepped just outside the area where the shop had tables but kept the cousins kids company whilst the cousin went in to pay for their order, after all the kids were 8 and 10 years old.

My wife finished her coffee and disposed of the cup in a public bin.

We then went to sit down with the cousin and his kids.

We were informed by the same waiter that we could only sit down if we also ordered otherwise were not allowed to sit with our party. So I ordered two glasses of tap water. I was told we would have to pay a 50p service charge for each glass and that both of us would have to pay. I asked the waiter if he was being serious. He insisted. I asked to see the manager. I asked for his name. He directed me inside. He indicated that it was store policy. He asked for my detals first. He noted my name down and mobile. He then refused to provide his name. I asked for him to show me where this policy that he indicated was written and he said that it was not written. I called the police and asked if they could help. They indicated that the shop has the right to ask any customer to leave. So I appologised and left. On leaving I stated loudly for all the customers to hear

"I am being asked to leave even though my party had paid for their orders because I specifically did not place an order."

It should be noted that there were empty tables with plenty spare seats. I have photos. The shop also has cc tv.

Maybe the "Henley Street Tea Rooms" need to treat their customers more friendly.
