The Landmark London Hotel London Reviews

Try the Champage Buffet - The Landmark Hotel oozes opulence and a visit to its Sunday Champagne buffet can only be described as a (brilliant!) misadventure in excess.

The buffet – and I hate to call it a buffet, because of the images of scotch-eggs that it invokes, which couldn’t be further from the reality – is held in the Winter Garden, an 8 story atrium, complete with palm trees.

It’s all very formal. Upon arrival, you’re shown to your table by waiters that border on reverential and the sound track to your visit is live, easy listening jazz.

Your champagne glass is almost immediately filled with Laurent Perrier and is constantly topped up throughout your visit.

The buffet is vast. It starts at one end of a long banqueting table with traditional English breakfast, muffins, the most splendid eggs Benedict that I’ve ever eaten, home made pastries and a selection of juices.

Moving round, you’ll find a selection of charcuterie, smoked salmon, Parma ham, salads, sushi, anti-pasti and artisan breads.

Then there are the main courses. I had roast beef with all of the trimmings.

The fact that I couldn’t finish it was no reflection on the food. It was wonderful. I was, however, full from my first two courses and desperate to save a bit of room for desert.

Or should I say deserts. I had two. In fairness, they were of a modest size.

I still had to practically had to roll myself out of there though, quite tipsy and full of food.

The buffet runs from 12:30 to 3pm and you have the table for the whole session, which is plenty of time to over-indulge.

It’s not cheap, at £70 per person, but it’s great for a special treat and very good value given that you’re drinking champagne and have access to an unlimited supply of very good food for the whole time you’re there.

A Great Classic Hotel - On the night of our engagement, my husband surprised me with a night in the classic Landmark London Hotel in Marylebone. I had never been before, and I have to say it was wonderful. We typically stay at hotels that are a little more chic/contemporary, but it was nice to spend this special night in a more traditional, old school environment. Everything there is top notch, and classy. Our room was comfy and warm, and the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Not to mention, the Landmark is in a great location; within walking distance to our favorite park in London, Regent's Park. I would highly recommend the Landmark for a high-class, special occasion.
