Whilst walking around its 20 dramatically themed rooms, step into the wine connoisseurs world and enjoy a personal audio-guide in six languages as well as five free tastings from over 200 hundred selected wines. In addition to this, there are also two restaurants, a wine accessories shop as well as an enormous wine store and three banqueting venues. Last entry is two hours before closing.

2 for 1 if you travel by rail - We had 2 for 1 entry on the self guided tour of Vinopolis so we thought we would give it a visit as it only worked out at £10 each. After being intitially told how to taste wine we proceeded to go round different regions with our electronic guide. Included in the price was 5 tastings of wine and a bombay saffire cocktail. You can also taste rum, whisky and champagne for a small charge. I concentrated on rose and riesling. Where my mum was red all the way. It was lovely and relaxed and lots of places to sit down and enjoy your wine. All the staff we knowledgable and friendly. The only thing I noticed was there wasnt a section for German wine which is a favourite of mine.

After tapas for £4 we then moved onto the bombay saffire bar and I had a martini which was yummy. I dont even like gin!! We spent about 2 hours in Vinopolis and learnt alot. I would advise other people to go earlier as when we left at 6 it was getting busy. There is also a majestic wine warehouse at the end if you can find your purse!!

p.s the finals of britains next top model and the apprentice were filmed here recently.
