Spinning is not supposed to be hard - ... or was it, you’re not supposed to work hard when you exercise. Or sweat. This is the argument I had with an instructor last week at Lambton Place. This is not really a gym but a members club that gives the opportunity for exercise, should you be so inclined. And there are so many gems; the spiral staircase that reminds me of the US TV show Too Close for Comfort for some reason. The spinning instructor who puts on a cassette TAPE of ambient music (no CDs or hiphop here), says “today we’re going to do a hill,” and utters not one more word for the entire class. The pool with the unexplained Greek statues in every corner. There may be vines as well. And the nearly unbelievable hot tub with a transparent window, that allows you to watch members frolicking at all hours. And believe me, there is always someone in the hot tub! 11-10-07
