The Old banking hall (i.e. Counting House) has been cleverly converted into modern bar, without detracting from the original features of the building. The menu offers traditional pub fare, and choice of drinks is extensive. It can get quite crowded, but that was what a counting house was like we imagine. Catering for private parties of up to 110 guests is available upon request.

Counting House London Reviews

Ooh suits you! - Generally, post-work drinks in La Cite are not this girl's cup of tea. But it was a money-making friend's birthday drinks so I plastered on a smile and went along with it.

Apart from the eye-blinding assortment of shiny cufflinks and glittering 'I've still got a job' grins this is quite a little gem of a place. Yes, I felt out of place in my David and Goliath t-shirt (someone even asked me if I'd actually worn it to work) but it was a nice place to spend an evening in the Bank area.

Steeped in history, with beautiful old-school decor and no noisy soundtrack, it was unusual and a great place to catch up with friends. And it's not pricey either which is a bonus for someone who doesn't get a bonus...
