Somerset House is the Courtauld Gallery of world famous paintings. There is a public promenade that hosts an open air cafe and restaurant. Admission is free of charge as well as the surrounding public areas of Somerset House. Perfect for educational and group visits. It has recently been extended to include the Hermitage rooms, housing five galleries decorated in the style of St Petersburg's famous State Hermitage Museum. Admission is one pound which goes straight to the Hermitage foundation.

Somerset House London Reviews

amazing - I don't know anything about the history of Somerset House, I'm sure Wikipedia can help you with that. What I do know is that the courtyard at Somerset House is amazing and awesome and all year round! In the summer they have a series of gigs in the evening - I've seen Bloc Party, Joanna Newsom and Bright Eyes here before. When they're not having the gigs they have these awesome fountains that you can run around in (if it ever stops raining!) - then in the winter they put a massive ice rink in there and you can ice skate - lots of people hire it for launches and things aswell - in short if anyone says to you 'do you fancy going to Somerset House for _________' - just say YES!
