Turnmills has long been established as London's most vibrant and exciting clubbing hotspots. In its fifteen year history it has played host to the capitals biggest and best nights embracing different styles of dance music from house through to trance and Latin beats. With two critically acclaimed restaurants on site and regular club nights, there is a wide variety of choice.

The "beetle" among the clubs - Turnmills just goes and goes and goes, seems like nothing can kill it (not taken literally please despite the odd shooting incidence some time ago). I suppose every DJ once has played at Turnmills in one way or another, so the place can't be that wrong. But is it really good? When a good DJ plays, it just works so if a Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles or Faith turns up it is a non-brainer. Club is mid size 2-3000 people. Essentially there is a main room for main room music and a small dark room for small dark room music which most often has more of a vibe, it is more crammed and gets sweatier earlier, which is what we like, and the DJ is not hiding or sitting up somewhere on a balcony but right there. Again, it all depends on the DJ, there is no way around acquiring some knowledge on this as in London with its discerning clubbers, the DJ defines who is coming (Turnmills attracts more a mixed crowd I would say) and how it is going to be. As far as the club is concerned the bouncers (not all of course, it is typically the people inside who don't get fresh air) are notoriously moody (to put it mildly), hats may not be worn (ridiculous) and I have seen the MIB do random strip searches taking people away from the dancefloor, which is pretty unique in London (as far as I know at least) and does not add to my excitement. So I won't be back too soon but I might shoot myself in the foot completely ruling out another go at some point. We want to be with friendly people and once you are through the door you want to relax and enjoy. However, see for yourself, perhaps I am too picky here. Nights like Cityloud or Trade have been institutions over many years before they ran out of steam, you might just catch a good night at its best when you go.
